Maths

The maths department will set regular homework's linked to the particular units that are being studied in each term.

English

 Reading unseen texts. This will include reading unseen texts and answering a variety of questions on the extracts.

History

In preparation for the end of unit exam on the cold war pupils will be given a series of revision tasks to complete.  This will involve reviewing the entire module and identifying areas of strength and weakness, producing revision cards and planning practice questions.

Spanish

There is a set of questions to practice the skills and knowledge for the GCSE Spanish Speaking exam.  There is also a Photo Card which further allows for more practice of the crucial grammar and vocabulary. The class teacher will issue this and explain what is exactly required, as well as informing the pupils of the deadline.

 

iMedia

In iMedia in year 10, students will investigate the technical aspects of the files they are creating, looking at file types, file compression of images and sound and they will consider why these are necessary. This homework  will enhance and enrich the learning in iMedia and leave students better equipped throughout the course to select appropriate file types for their projects.

Food

 

Science

Research a scientist -  Produce a poster about one of the scientists studied for GCSEs. Examples include Mendeleev, Darwin and Newton. The poster should go into their background and their most famous theory. The class teacher will issue this and explain what is exactly required, as well as informing the pupils of the deadline.

 

Geography

 Practice 6 mark and 9 mark questions using photographs and satellite images as source material. Spelling, punctuation and grammar assessed within these questions. The class teacher will issue this and explain what is exactly required, as well as informing the pupils of the deadline.

 

 

BTEC Sport

Students will be expected to complete assignment tasks linked to Unit 2: Practical Sports Performance throughout term 1. Subject staff will issue this throughout term 1.  This will involve them investigating 2 sports of their choice and writing up the rules, regulations and scoring systems and finding out about the key skills, techniques and tactics. They should use the national governing body as their first reference tool.
